I know it's been a while since I wrote on this darn thing. What can I say...it's been a busy summer. I did try to post pics of Kylie's room last week and it kept telling me there was an error. I tried for 45 minutes before finally saying 'screw it'. I will try again soon so I can post pics of the summer and of Kylie's room and of her first day of 2nd grade. See you soon!

Just a quick preview of our trip to California. Kylie got her face painted and the woman did an amazing job. She was getting stopped all day by people just wanting to look at her.

One Lucky Mama!

My kid is the best in the world! Kylie bought me a book for Mother's Day with the money I gave her to get herself something from the book fair at school. I think she made a great choice. It makes me feel so good that she thought of me.

I got more than 1 gift for Mother's Day. Look at this beautiful work of art that Kylie made for me. I can tell she worked really hard on it.

Grass Stains

We finally have grass in our yard!! It may seems like no big deal to some but to us it's HUGE! We have lived here for 3 years and step by step we are making this house beautiful.

County Fair!

Friday we all went out to the Pima County Fair -it was a blast!! We met our friends Craig and Kari and their family out there and the fun began.

Kylie, Kayla and I at the end of the ride. Kylie and I loved the ride but Kayla was a little scared. She said "oh yea, this is the ride where you feel like you're gonna die" so matter-of-factly. Cracked me up!

Pool Time

After lots of hard work on our yard we decided to spend some time in the pool. We bought this little pool at the end of last summer so we're just trying it out for the first time. I think it will definitely come in handy this summer!

Mom - I Lost My Voice

So this morning Kylie "lost her voice" - doesn't every kid play this? I totally remember pretending to lose my voice when I was a kid. So the whole morning she was either whispering or giving me hand signals. A few minutes before we left we were playing with Phoebe and making her chase us around the house and her voice miraculously came back! But she said that you never know what might happen at lunch time - she just might lose it again.

A Wonderful Sunday

On Sunday we decided to go hiking and enjoy this perfect weather we are having. It was really fun and beautiful!

After our hike (we were all pooped!) we went to my mom's house so Kylie could swim. It was way too cold for me but she loved it and Travis even jumped in a couple times. Phoebe (the dog) kept dropping her ball in the water so Kylie would throw it for her - too cute!

It was a pretty great day!

Karate Master!

It's official...my kid is a karate master (or whatever it's really called). Travis and I signed up Kylie for 6 months of karate today...there is no going back now! Well, not for 6 months at least. They did a physical test today with the kids - to see how many situps, pushups, etc., they could do. Kylie kicked some major butt and is totally exhausted now.

I really hope that she loves karate and enjoys it. Either way - she's not gettin' out of it for 6 months!

Slacker!

Wow, I have already totally slacked! Here I was promising in my first blog ever that I would try not to slack and what did I do? Slacked. I was reminded again this morning that I should start a blog to, at least, write about all the great things my kid does. I actually meant to keep up with this and totally forgot I even started it! Alright, I will jump on the computer tonight and at least get some pictures on here.

Virgin Blogger

How exciting!! My first blog! That's right, I am a virgin blogger. Some friends of mine convinced me to start a blog - I am the only one in our little group who doesn't have one. I am such a push-over! I know I will mostly be writing about my family (husband and a 7 yr old daughter) and bragging about my kid like crazy. I will try not to slack too much and write a bunch but I am a really sucky writer so we'll see.
